Although the history of modern fund raising is barely one hundred years old, the people of God have been raising funds for building projects for thousands of years. Since the time of the Tabernacle in the wilderness, God has been instructing His people to give their best for the work of the Lord.

During the first century, the Apostle Paul recognized that sometimes churches need assistance in what we would today call “stewardship development.” That is why he sent his fellow worker Titus to Corinth with the challenge to help the church “excel in the grace of giving” (2 Cor. 8:7).
